Will former West Ham United goalkeeper leave Luton Town next month?

Goalkeeper marek stech is likely to move on from luton town this summer.

The once-capped Czech Republic international is out of contract at Kenilworth Road at the end of next month and is expected to move on a free transfer.

Stech, who is 30 years old, has not made a single appearance for the Hatters this season and is down the pecking order behind Simon Sluga and James Shea.

He joined Luton in 2017 on a three-year deal and was their number one in his first campaign as they won promotion from League Two, playing 42 games in all competitions.

However, last season he lost his place between the sticks as his side gained back-to-back promotions after winning the League One title.

Stech may have to weigh up his options as a free agent over the coming months but could be on the radar of a few clubs needing new ‘keepers.

He started his career as a youngster at Sparta Prague but moved to England in 2005 to sign for West Ham United. He went onto make three appearances for the Hammers’ first-team, as well as spending time out on loan at Wycombe Wanderers, AFC Bournemouth, Yeovil Town and Leyton Orient.

Stech left Upton Park in 2012 to sign for Yeovil permanently and helped the Glovers win promotion to the Championship in his first season back.

He moved back to Sparta Prague for a three year stint before rocking up at Luton. He could now move on again this summer with his future with the Hatters up in the air.
